I had a nightmare that recurred every few years, in which the two halves of my upper jaw clenched together and began to fuse, so that in the dream my face went numb and my tongue spasmed, and in reality I chipped a couple of my teeth, clenching them too tightly together.
After the series of those nightmares the idea for a sculpture came to me — I combined a human skull with the skull of a bird and that’s how the remains of Godot came to life and found in the woods under a decayed hat.
The End of the Man sculpture was made in unglazed bisque porcelain in and released in two sizes: lifesize (30 pieces) and small version (100 pieces).
